About Raritan River Chapter NRHS
Raritan River Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, charter granted April 2011. Created to help preserve the artifacts and the history of the Raritan River Railroad, which ran between South Amboy, NJ and New Brunswick, NJ from 1888 to 1980.
Short Term Goals are:
To move, preserve and restore the Raritan River Rail Road Freight Station in Milltown, NJ.
Preserve the history and remaining artifacts of the Raritan River Railroad. (This includes research and documentation)
To pursue Tax-Free 501(c)3 status.
Publish material related to the history of the RRRR.
Encourage community support for the station, and interest in railroad history.
Educate the community on the history of the station, the RRRR, and railroads in general.
Plan for community events at the station (Railroaders Day, etc)
Expand the focus of the chapter to all of the railroads that connected with the RRRR, or served the Raritan River area. (PRR, CNJ, NY&LB, Camden & Amboy)
Expand the research of the chapter to include the local trolley lines (Milltown to South Amboy) as well as the local high speed Interurban line (New Brunswick to Trenton)
To amass, categorize, and make available photographs, documents, and memorabilia pertaining to the RRRR.
Membership is $50 per year.

Schedule of Meetings for 2015-2016:
We met the third Thursday of every month.
All meetings will start at 7:00 pm and will be held at the Milltown Museum
116 South Main Street – Milltown, N.J.
General meetings and Quarterly business meetings are open to all, however only members in good standing with the NRHS will be allowed to make motions or vote.
